Newsletter Issue #1- Orascom Industrial Parks Strengthens Ties with Indian and Turkish Embassies to Expand Investment Windows

OIP Engages with International Partners to Foster Industrial Collaboration

Orascom Industrial Parks (OIP), led by CEO Eng. Amr El Batrik, has recently advanced its diplomatic outreach through two separate high-level meetings aimed at deepening international cooperation and exploring new investment opportunities. The company first met with the Indian ambassador to Egypt, H.E. Suresh K. Reddy, at the Indian Embassy in Cairo, followed later by a meeting with the Turkish ambassador, H.E. Salih Mutlu Şen, at the Turkish Embassy. Both discussions highlighted OIP’s continued efforts to position Egypt as a regional hub for industrial and economic growth.

At the Indian Embassy, Eng. Amr El Batrik and Eng. Mohamed Farouk, Senior Commercial Manager at OIP, met with Ambassador Reddy to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration between Egyptian and Indian industries. The talks focused on investment prospects, knowledge exchange, and the development of sustainable industrial zones that serve global markets.

El Batrik stressed that Orascom Industrial Parks sees the development of integrated, sustainable industrial zones as a key pathway to attracting foreign direct investment and boosting Egypt’s global competitiveness. He explained that OIP’s vision is to transform its industrial complexes into regional production centres that can serve international markets and support long-term economic growth.

The meeting also explored potential opportunities within India’s dynamic industrial landscape, where each state specialises in different sectors. Finally, El Batrik pointed out that this diversity requires preparing tailored materials for each state, presented in local languages to communicate more effectively with investors.

Ambassador Reddy praised OIP’s efforts and recommended exploring targeted industries across India’s states. He also suggested developing dedicated brochures and introductory materials in local languages, in addition to organising regular visits to highlight available investment channels.

El Batrik added that the ambassador expressed strong enthusiasm for supporting the flow of Indian investments into Egypt and emphasised the importance of addressing challenges that investors may face in the Egyptian market.

Describing the meeting as productive, El Batrik said he looked forward to “broader avenues of cooperation between both sides in the future. “India’s growing industrial base and its drive for overseas investment make it an ideal partner for Egypt. We believe that collaboration between our two countries will create real opportunities for investors and contribute to shared industrial progress.”

Following the meeting with the Indian ambassador, OIP continued its international outreach with a visit to the Turkish Embassy in Cairo. Led again by Eng. Amr El Batrik, the delegation met with Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen to discuss possible areas of cooperation between OIP and Turkish partners.

The discussion focused on how OIP’s experience in developing and managing integrated industrial zones could align with Turkey’s industrial strengths and investment ambitions. Both sides exchanged views on joint industrial projects, manufacturing partnerships, and the potential for Turkish investors to benefit from Egypt’s strategic location and business-friendly environment.

Ambassador Şen met with the OIP delegation to discuss possible areas of cooperation between Egypt and Turkey. The meeting focused on how both sides can work together on industrial development initiatives and future Investment windows.

Speaking after the meeting, Eng. Amr El Batrik said: “Our discussions with Ambassador Şen were encouraging and forward-looking. We see significant potential in building on Turkey’s industrial expertise and connecting it with Egypt’s strategic infrastructure. OIP stands ready to facilitate partnerships that can generate long-term value for both economies.”

Through these engagements with the Indian and Turkish embassies, Orascom Industrial Parks reaffirmed its commitment to expanding Egypt’s industrial partnerships on the global stage. The company continues to pursue collaborations that promote sustainable growth, attract investment, and position Egypt as a leading centre for industrial excellence in the region.
