Supporting Export-Oriented Manufacturing and Job Creation at Sokhna Industrial Development Complex
Orascom Industrial Parks (Orascom IP) welcomed Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly during his visit to Wami Fashion, an Egyptian ready-made garment manufacturer operating at the Sokhna Industrial Development Complex (SIDC), Orascom IP’s flagship industrial development.
The visit was organized and hosted following Wami Fashion’s official start of operations in August 2025, marking an important milestone for the project and for SIDC as a growing destination for export-oriented manufacturing.
During the visit, Orascom IP’s CEO, Eng. Amr El Batrik, received the Prime Minister alongside a senior delegation representing the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone). The visit included a guided tour of the production facilities, where Orascom IP showcased the site’s infrastructure, utilities, and operational readiness.
Since commencing operations, Wami Fashion has created 215 direct job opportunities and reached an annual production capacity of 6.5 thousand tons, contributing to Egypt’s growing textile and ready-made garment sector.
The Prime Minister’s visit reflects strong government confidence in the industrial ecosystem Orascom IP is building and highlights the importance of integrated industrial parks in supporting job creation and sustainable growth. Through developments like SIDC, Orascom IP continues to attract labor-intensive and export-driven investments, helping strengthen local supply chains and expand Egypt’s manufacturing base.
